A Nigerian, Emeka Godwin had come to India on a medical visa with his attendant to treat chronic kidney disease. He was admitted in a critical situation at Paras Health Care Pvt Ltd. He died in the hospital but no one came forward to claim his body or to pay hospital charges. The attendant was also not reachable at given number. The hospital has approached to Ministry of External Affairs to discover his relatives but the ministry did not receive any response from Nigeria High Commission on burying the body.

Finally, after five months Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered for his “dignified burial” as per the requisite rituals of Christian cemetery.
